Walmart doesn’t just have everything, we’ve got your thing.
Millions of people shop Walmart every day. But they think of Walmart as a physical store, not a digital destination. So to help reframe this, we launched a new campaign to emphasize the personal connection shoppers have with the brand… a more personal way to shop it: on your phone. Welcome to your Walmart.
To launch the new campaign, we peeked into the carts & lives of some very famous friends for a whole new way to discover, shop & share your Walmart.
What’s in your cart says a lot about you! So we joined forces with culture-shifting icons, NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes, Latina superstar BeckyG and the “it girl” of the summer, Barbie.
Case study film
We hung out with Patrick Mahomes during the off-season, to see what’s in his cart during his downtime.
We caught up with Becky G as she prepped to hit the road for her first headlining tour.
And, we went behind-the-scenes with Barbie as she had her biggest summer EVER.
Fans could shop the carts with a custom Walmart app and web experience.
We gave fans an authentic way to connect with them and their carts through social-first content & live activations,
Patrick dropped content live from an activation at the ESPYs red carpet.
Barbie introduced a live Good Morning America segment detailing the items in her carts.
Becky G hosted a shoppable Walmart livestream along with her mom, Alex.
And when the holidays rolled around, we were back with 3 more famous friends, who found THEIR holiday thing at Walmart.
Superstar John Legend curated his picks for celebrating with the fam.
Internet fave Emma Chamberlain invited us to her caffeine-fueled holiday game night.
And The Grinch found a wonderfully awful new way to steal Christmas cheer.
It was an incredible experience bringing the original Chuck Jones-style animation back to the Grinchverse with an all-new Seussian rhyme, a re-recording of “Welcome, Christmas” with orchestra & a chorus of new Whos, and a modern “Santa” to impersonate… the trusty Walmart delivery driver.
